It is always an exciting event for you when you have a pet photo session for the first time. You have that dedicated 1-2 hours of a photo session at the end of which you hope to receive wonderful images of your beloved pet.

The first step to reach to those wonderful pet pictures is to prepare your pet and also yourself – if you want to be in the pictures – before the session.

So how goes a preparation? What should you do?

Baby bunny for the first time outdoors!

Pets are beautiful as they are so they don’t need any make-up or any other tricks to look both natural and beautiful at the same time. However it can be a good idea to give them a short brush session to make their fur look even more shiny.

Sometimes they have a bit of a dirt around the eyes. With the special drops and towels you can clean around the eyes before the session.

It is not a good idea to feed them right before the photo session. If it is an outdoor session, it means there will be a lot of running and playing around and that is not good with a full stomach. Better feed them at the latest 2 hours before the session.

Some pet owners also want to be in some shots. If that is the case with you, I would recommend you to wear neutral colours like beige, light brown, or gray and also possible without any logos or prints. We don’t want to distract the attention away from your pet but to photograph you together with your pet/pets.

If you have special wishes, just inform me about them when you book your session.

The rest is just to enjoy, have fun and leave the work to me!
