The preparations had started long time ago and everyone was very excited for the day. The day that they opened the shelter doors to the visitors. Yes, I am talking about the Tag der offenen Tür in Bülach Tierheim Pfötli which happened at the last weekend of May.

I was one of the volunteers to help them during that day with my photography. I must say everything was well planned, organized and as I have seen in the faces of the people working at the shelter, they were really happy and proud as they should be. However much the weather didn’t want to be cooperative on that sunday, still the amount of the visitors were really unbelievable. Dog-dance, Grosstier-Rettung and all those stands from different pet-related businesses were quite an attraction for the people.

Of course I have to mention one thing: I am extremely happy that the Tierheim Pfötli has chosen one of my images to print and hang on the outer wall. And not only that, on the little present sets they have given to the visitors were also the same image. As a pet photographer that was one of the moments that I really felt proud. I must thank you for that! 🙂

At the end I hope that people after seeing “behind-the-scenes” of the shelter will be more sensitive about pets and will not easily give up on their pets just because of whatever …

Here are some pictures from the day:
